Millhouses Park

Millhouses Park is located about three miles south west of the city centre, and is a family favourite destination for its wide range of facilities. It boasts a skate park, outdoor gym equipment, a bike track, a zip line, a climbing wall, playing fields, a playground, a basketball court, a boating lake, and a bowling green. 

The 12.87 hectare park is part of the River Sheaf Corridor, with direct access to the city centre as well as the countryside beyond. There’s woodland with a large mixture of native and ornamental trees, and attractive flower beds and green spaces.

Endcliffe Park

Endcliffe Park is a large park and woodlands just a few minutes west of the city centre. It was opened in 1887 to commemorate the Jubilee of Queen Victoria, and is a popular destination for families. There’s a large children’s playground, a parkour facility, and open green spaces for ball games.

There’s also duck ponds and riverside walks, and a network of foot and cycle paths that lead into the Porter Valley and beyond to the Peak District.

Graves Park

Graves Park is a large 200 acre park to the south west of the city centre, containing ancient woodlands that have been protected from development. There’s lakes, streams, a cafe, two children’s playgrounds and an Animal Farm that is free to visit.
