Staying in serviced accommodation comes with the perk of a fully-equipped kitchen, but let’s be honest, most people renting a city centre apartment want to make the most of the exciting restaurants nearby.

And in Sheffield, this includes a huge array of vegan eateries, with the Yorkshire city becoming one of the most inclusive for its plant-based meals.

With as many as 2.5 million people in the UK being vegan and 3.1 million being vegetarian, it is essential cities like Sheffield cater for those who want to avoid animal products.

This is particularly the case as vegan numbers are set to rise, given that it grew by 1.1 million between 2023 and 2024 alone.

So, where should those who are out and about in Sheffield go if they want delicious vegan food?

Sheffield is famous for its Asian population, so head to 5Tara in either Duke Street or Kelham if you want a taste of traditional Indian flavours. Its vegan options include Delhi masala momos, Mitra di chaap curry with chaap instead of meat, and mango mastani for dessert.

For somewhere that only serves vegan food, head to Church – Temple of Fun. This was founded by Bring Me The Horizon’s frontman Oliver Sykes and offers a delicious menu of plant-based foods.

These include chilli God dog, exciting burger options, loaded waffle fries, vibrant salads, and even vegan kids’ meals.

This restaurant doubles up as a bar, while it also hosts various events, such as comedy nights, ceramics workshops, and dog life drawing.

Gaard Coffee Hide is another vegan-only eatery, serving delicious plant-based pastries and cakes.

Come here for smoothie bowls, kronuts, cinnamon banana bread, biscoff cheesecake, croissants, cherry bakewells, warming soups, hot dogs and much more.
