Sheffield Festival of Reggae, Sat 17 August
The Festival of Reggae takes place at the Network venue on Matilda Street in the city centre. This year, there will be three stages featuring reggae, dub and roots music and Aswad and Janet Kay will be the headliners. There will also be a courtyard with a range of quality food vendors.
Tramlines Festival, Hillsborough Park, 26-29 July
The popular Tramlines Festival is great value for money, and this year features top acts including Paolo Nutini, Bombay Bicycle Club, Jamie T, Snow Patrol, and local synth-pop survivors The Human League.
It’s a family-friendly event, with a significant discount for kids under 12. There will be plenty of child-friendly activities, including a craft den, a circus workshop, a funfair, and the treehouse Stage featuring favourite party classics, breakdancing, and hip hop workshops.
Elsewhere, there will be stages devoted to comedy, spoken word poetry and other performance artists, plus a diverse range of food and drink including vegan and vegetarian options.
Antiques Quarter Flea Market, monthly
Held in the historic Antiques Quarter around Abbeydale Road and Broadfield Road, this monthly flea market of over 70 stalls features a mix of antiques, collectibles, and handmade goods. It’s a great place to hunt for unique finds and enjoy the local atmosphere, with a range of independent cafes and bars within walking distance.
