pet friendly apartment - dog in pub

Dogs are a man’s best friend, and many of us now see our pooches as part of the family who share trips out and holidays. If you are thinking of booking a pet friendly apartment for a city break with your dog, then Sheffield is one of the best destinations in the UK.

Your canine companion will be able to go everywhere with you, as it’s an outdoor city and many of the pubs, cafes, and restaurants are very happy to welcome you and your pet. Here are a few of the best dog-friendly pubs in Sheffield.

Blue Ball Inn, Worral

The Blue Ball Inn is a rural village pub, yet just a few minutes drive from the city centre with a traditional community atmosphere. It’s a family run pub and dogs, kids and muddy boots are welcome. There’s a sheltered garden to the rear and also seating to the front if you prefer to be outside with your four-legged friend.

The menu is based around high quality local produce and there’s a good selection of small plates, burgers, sharers, and sandwiches. On Saturdays you will have a choice of homemade stone baked pizza, while on Sunday lunchtime there are sarnies and hot roast dinners.

The Railway

The Railway near the Hillsborough Stadium is a favourite with sports fans for obvious reasons, and has Sky and BT Sport. It also puts on live gigs, and there’s free retro arcade games, pool tables, and a free vinyl jukebox. It’s a busy, lively pub with outdoor seating and dogs are welcome.

The Dog & Partridge

The Dog & Partridge is on Trippet Lane in the city centre and was a Dog Friendly Sheffield Award winner in 2020, so you and your pet can be assured of a warm welcome. It’s a cosy but modern pub that prides itself on the quality of its Guinness. It provides a good selection of lunches and evening meals, and also caters for larger parties on request.
